RXTE SOF RXTE Suitability of Target RXTE GOF

This tool is meant to assist mission planners and guest observers in determining the best time to observe targets. It reads a 12-month ephemeris file and creates output listing the predicted observing efficiency and sun angle. This ephemeris is good for one year from its creation date, and there are two updates per year, in December and June.

The RXTE SOF does not guarantee that objects will always be scheduled during the week of peak efficiency, due to Targets of Opportunity and coordinated observations.

Dates outside the Ephemeris ranges below will give unpredictable results!!!

Due to the nature of this utility, the program will not display results until it has finished running. This program will take between 60 and 600 seconds. It will run faster if you select fewer months to report.
